In the 80's and 90's, my studio specialized in still life and illustrative imagery. The rise of high technology companies produced a demand among advertising agencies for "high-tech" images representing the "future". Photoshop and digital manipulation did not exist, and traditional print and airbrush method resulted in severe degradation of image quality.
I developed several in-camera techniques that allowed up to seven or eight images to be exposed together on a single sheet of 4x5 or 8x10 film, resulting in a first generation transparency image. A combination of multiple sets, cameras and tricks resulted in photos that were in high demand.
Though I enjoyed the mental and physical challenges of doing illustrative work, my first love was always still life.
